"How about I slice ya in half"
-Luca before his bossfight Luca is a human corrupted by Grey (F.R.). He appear in both his passive and lunatic form throughout the game. He appears in chapters 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. He is the main antagonist of chapter 9.
Appearance[]
Luca is a human with green eyes and blonde hair. He wears a grey coat and pants. He is also seen wearing a beanie. In his passive form, he wears magic gloves and boots to cover his true form, and his wings are hidden.
Origin[]
Luca is used to be a regular student, who was frequently picked on by others. He heard of a powerful being willing to grant anyone one wish, so he searched for the being and eventually found it at Odd World. Unknown to him at the time, the being was Grey (F.R.), and had malicious intent. Luca asked Grey to give him sone kind of way to stop being bullied. He was given claws and wings, alongside special clothing to hide them. However, when doing this, Grey made him constantly hungry for human flesh, and so, people started going missing, including his bullies. He would sometimes return to Grey to do his bidding, as while he could suppress and control the hunger, Grey threatened to make it irresistible that if he ever disobeyed him.
Gameplay[]
Chapter 1
In the opening cutscene in the bus, Luca ambushes the driver and hijacks the bus, driving it into the Rainbow Friends Play Place, and chapter 1 commences. After that, he can be seen in a safe room and can be talked to. His dialogue is listed below
L: Hey, <Playername>! How ya doin'?

P: Right... This isn't part of Odd World though, how you gonna get out of this one, Quiet Kid?

Chapters 3, 5, and 7
Luca shows up briefly in these chapters, however, can't be interacted with, however, in chapter 7, on the first night Maroon (F.R.) warns the players of a grey flying thing, upon hearing that, Luca runs away, tripping, and briefly exposing his wings, however, the players do not see this

Pre-bossfight dialogue

P: So, here we are, the exit
MH1: Wait, but where's Luca? We can't leave without him
L: I'm right here!
MH3: Woah, nice wings! Wait, what happened to you?
L: ...Easier to assimilate then to explain...
MH2: Huh...?
L: Ok, fine, basically Grey made me this weird cannibal thing, and his pawn
MH2: So... you need to eat people now...?
L: Yes, and Grey's making it harder to resist the urge, so...
L: How about I slice ya in half?
The bossfight then commences. Luca is only vulnerable when he's on the ground, or low enough to be hit. He has the most attacks out of every boss, even more then Grey. Once he reaches half health, grey tendrils burst though the ceiling, controlling Luca. Either the players can cut the tendrils, or attack Luca directly, the only difference made by attacking the tendrils or Luca is the theme that plays after his bossfight. After the bossfight, he is seemingly freed from the curse, however, keeps his wings and claws, and flies away, and isn't seen until the epilogue.
Trivia[]
- Luca is the only aggressive human in the game, he is also the only notable human npc who doesn't hold an artifact
- Luca always somewhat believed in myths and legends, which is why he wasn't skeptical of the rumors of Grey
- One of Luca's lines of dialogue lines is a direct quote from the show Murder Drones
