Frederick leopold fitzgerald von fazbearington 3rd, or simply known as Freddy Fazbear, is the titular main antagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's, who acts as the mascot of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. While acting as the beloved mascot during the day, the possessed animatronic hunts down any adult in the establishment.
Appearance[]
Freddy Fazbear is depicted as a brown bear adorned with a black bow tie and top hat. He has three black freckles on each cheek of his face, complemented by blue eyes and black eyebrows. Additionally, Freddy's head bears the presence of several handprints.
Story[]
Five Nights at Freddy's[]
After undergoing reconstruction into his new form, Freddy Fazbear resumed his role as a mascot at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. However, during the nightshift, the haunted Freddy and the other animatronics engaged in a relentless pursuit to kill the nightguards. In 1993, Freddy and the animatronics cornered Phone Guy, with his Toreador March theme playing, and killed him. Throughout Mike Schmidt's tenure as a nightguard, Freddy initially remained stationed on the Show Stage during the first two nights, presumably to observe his tactics. From the third night, Freddy actively joined the others in their aggressive endeavours to harm Mike, yet despite their efforts, they were unable to terminate him due to his resourcefulness. After Following Mike's shifts, the Pizzeria closed its doors at the end of that year, leaving Freddy and the other animatronics behind.
Five Nights at Freddy's 3[]
After the closure of the Pizzeria, Freddy was guided by Shadow Freddy to the Safe Room. However, due to his programming limitations, Freddy was unable to enter the room. William Afton attacked and disassembled Freddy, leaving his remains scattered on the floor. Gabriel's liberated spirit and the others obstructed the entrance to the Safe Room to prevent Afton from escaping. They eventually faded away after he died from a springlock failure.
Decades later, the head and torso of Freddy were recovered and utilised as props at Fazbear's Fright. During the Happiest Day event, Gabriel's soul, along with the other spirits, was liberated on Golden Freddy's birthday and finally found peace in the afterlife. The remains of the Freddy animatronic were presumably destroyed when Fazbear's Fright burned down.
Help Wanted[]
While Freddy was long gone at this point, a virtual recreation of him features as a character and titular mascot of the Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience, based on the rumours surrounding the brand. He features in the FNaF 1 levels, acting the same as in the original game, and "Parts and Service", where the player repairs Freddy.
Special Delivery[]
Freddy was once again recreated as the mascot of the Fazbear Funtime Service.
Behavior[]
Five Nights at Freddy's[]
Freddy Fazbear serves as the primary antagonist of the game. His role is to portray the main character's adversary and contribute to the custom night feature and to open up the map. Freddy Fazbear becomes active on Night 3 and continues to move throughout subsequent nights. He initially starts at the Show Stage and then progresses to the Dining Area, Bathroom, Kitchen, and eventually reaches the Office. If the player runs out of power, Freddy will also appear, and play his theme, the Toreador March, before game over. While he is visible on most cameras, only his eyes can be seen. It is crucial to keep an eye on him as his laughter indicates his movements and location. When he reaches the East Hall Corner, the player must either monitor Cam 4B or close the right door to prevent him from entering the office. Allowing Freddy to enter the office results in a game over. Additionally, a tactic known as "cam-locking" can be employed when Freddy is on the Show Stage or in the East Hall Corner. This involves observing him on the camera without switching to another room, which effectively immobilizes Freddy in that location. This strategy can be useful for completing the 20/20/20/20 mode while conserving power. However, cam-locking on the Show Stage does not work in the 20/20/20/20 mode. A number between 1 and 20 is chosen at random, which is compared to Freddy’s current AI level. If the level is more or equal to the number, Freddy will move. He gets an opportunity to progress every 3.02 seconds.
The AI levels for each night are as follows:
- Night 1: 0
- Night 2: 0
- Night 3: 1
- Night 4: 1 or 2
- Night 5: 3
- Night 6: 4
NOTE, Freddy’s levels do NOT increase with time like the other three animatronics in the game.
Five Nights at Freddy's 3[]
Freddy's torso and head can be seen as set dressing in Fazbear's Fright, in the hallway on the left of the Office.
Freddy's appearances are limited to the minigames, where he assumes the role of the player character during the Night 1 minigame. Throughout the Pizzeria, Freddy is guided by Shadow Freddy to a room he is unable to enter, and subsequently dismantled by William Afton. However, during Night 5, the spirit inhabiting Freddy, along with the others, blocks the exit to prevent William from escaping. In the Happiest Day minigame, a child wearing Freddy's mask is depicted being liberated.
